Where the aircraft is when you call
If the aircraft that fits your route is based at another airport, somebody has to pay for that empty repositioning. It is the factor that varies most and shows least: the same route, the same aircraft and two different days can be thousands of dollars apart because of it.
Which is why asking with flexible dates almost always comes out better than asking with a fixed one. A day of margin usually finds an aircraft already in position.
The category, not the model
The guidance starts with an aircraft category. These are references the provider must validate for the specific mission:
- Light jet — from $4,620 an hour. Capacity and range are confirmed for the mission.
- Mid-size — from $6,435 an hour. Cabin and range are confirmed for the mission.
- Super heavy — from $10,560 an hour. Configuration and service are confirmed when quoted.
- Ultra long range — from $18,000 an hour. Non-stop feasibility depends on the mission.
- Helicopter — from $5,250 an hour. Subject to route, permits and availability.
The airport
Fees, handling and slots vary a great deal from one field to another. Leaving from Toluca rather than Mexico City is usually both cheaper and quicker, because you also save the traffic of reaching the big airport.
Empty legs
When an aircraft must reposition without passengers, the operator may make that sector available to quote. Route, date, time, aircraft, conditions and price are confirmed case by case; we do not advertise a discount percentage.
It may work when route and timing match, but it should not be treated as guaranteed availability.
